Last October Ringo released a video on YouTube telling his fans to stop sending mail, as he was cutting off autographs. "I'm warning you with peace and love, I have too much to do. So no more fan mail."
I was blown away, not that he was going to stop responding to autograph request, but that he did it at all. As the cut off date of 10/20/08 was two days away. I looked up an address for him on "Google", typed up a letter, included a photo with a self addressed stamped envelope, and mailed it away expecting to never see it again.
Low and behold just under 4 months later I receive the photo with Ringo's autograph! And NO, it's not going on eBay! It is now one of if not the coolest item in my "The Beatles" collection.
Anyhow, point being....RINGO ROCKS!
